This controlled clinical trial assesses the “Yoga Brothers” program, a trauma-informed yoga intervention, for reducing PTSD symptoms among Israeli adults post the October 7th Hamas attack. The “Yoga Brothers” program consists of initial and concluding retreats, weekly two- hour sessions over four months, and emphasizes psychological flexibility, resilience, and communal support. Using a randomized control trial design, 100 participants with diagnosed PTSD are divided into an intervention and a waitlist control group. Measurements of PTSD severity, psychological distress, and resilience are taken before and after the intervention to evaluate changes. The study aims to provide a systematic assessment of the program’s effectiveness in alleviating PTSD symptoms and enhancing mental health, offering insights into the potential of yoga as a component of holistic PTSD treatment strategies. This research could significantly impact on therapeutic practices by integrating alternative methods like yoga to address complex trauma responses.
