Dr. Debby Serebrisky is a psychiatrist, specializing in addictions and dual diagnosis. She
studied psychiatry at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she acquired her
professional training in addictions and dual diagnosis. Dr. Serberiski managed an ambulatory
treatment center for dual diagnosis and also led the addiction department at the Medical
Simulation Center (SIMMER). In addition, Dr. Serebrisky has published a series of
professional books addressing substance use disorders. She has taught online courses on
addictions and dual diagnosis on various platforms and has also taught addiction medicine as
part of the psychiatry residency program at the University of Buenos Aires. Dr. Serebrisky
was a co-investigator at the Argentine center that participated in the EAGLES study
(Smoking Cessation Pharmacotherapy Efficacy in Comorbid Medical Populations), which
examined the side effects of smoking cessation medications in populations with psychiatric
disorders. Since returning to Israel in 2020, Dr. Serebrisky has managed the psychiatric
inpatient ward for women at Herzog Medical Center and has been involved in the
establishment of the “Migdalor” clinic for security forces personnel. Dr. Serebrisky believes
in a holistic approach to treatment, integrating physical activity and art therapy as part of the
rehabilitation process.
