Dr. Amichai Ben Ari is the Director of the ICAMH/Hadassah Clinic for Addiction and Double Diagnosis at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Open University, a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Ariel University. Following his doctorate, Dr. Ben Ari completed post-doctoral studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, further solidifying his expertise in the field. Dr. Ben Ari is also a lecturer and faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Ariel University. His research focuses on trauma and rehabilitation psychology, with an emphasis on early interventions for children who have experienced medical trauma. His scholarly contributions include 24 published articles, underscoring his active engagement in advancing knowledge in his field. Recently, Dr. Ben Ari was awarded a research grant from the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) to lead a pivotal intervention study in early trauma response for children, aimed at improving recovery outcomes following medical events. In addition to his research and academic roles, Dr. Ben Ari serves on the Ministry of Health’s Professional Committee for Rehabilitation Psychology in Israel. This position enables him to contribute to national policy discussions and decision-making processes, influencing the development and implementation of standards and practices within the field of rehabilitation psychology across the country.
