Aluma Lison is a social worker (MSW) and therapist at the ICAMH-Hadassah Clinic for Addiction and Double Diagnosis. She holds a BSW in Social Work from Ariel University and a Master degree in Social Work (MSW) from Tel Aviv University. As part of her Master degree, she wrote a research thesis entitled “The search for meaning in loss: The experience of adolescents who lost a peer during adolescence and exposure to the meaning of their loss”. She graduate a Student Supervision course in Social Work at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Aluma has worked for many years with at-risk youth and their families in various frameworks, including the Kiryat Yearim Youth Village and the ‘Otot’ association’s House for Girls. For the past five years, she has been a therapist at “Headspace,” a public center for focused psychological treatment for young people. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, combining psychodynamic understanding with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment and Acceptance Therapy (ACT), while including cultivation of mindfulness skills.
